Aderkee. Is there really anything else I need to say?

Well I guess so. You didn't read this blog just to read the coolest name ever. You probably have no idea who Aderkee even is. You might have had the same reaction I did when I first met him; a turkey? No I can assure you he is not a turkey but a Chapin, that is, a Guatemalan.

Arriving in Guatemala we met our ministry host, Aderkee. Aderkee has been with us each day leading us in soccer ministry with Guatemalan kids and teaching us how to be thankful each day for what God has given us.

Aderkee was born in Guatemala and has lived here ever since. He is 26 years old and looks like a boss. Aderkee learned english and is often a translator during our time in Guatemala. Aderkee has recently started working with Adventuras en missiones and has begun to pour into the lives of groups like us, who are doing missions work in Guatemala.

Here are a few memories with Aderkee;

Every time we get in the car with Aderkee to go to ministry we always joke about him running over the dogs in the road because he does not like dogs. (He accidentally ran over a dog while we were there, but don't worry it was just the tail and the dog was fine).

We have been learning how to do impressions of his voice and now one of our favorite things to say is; "Go, Go, the bus is leaving!", after the time he made us run to the bus that had already left.

On our way back from ministry one day we raced another ministry host John back to base. We lost but we had a lot of fun sounding like a teridactle all the way there.

So there you have it folks, Aderkee, the best ministry host ever (Sorry John).
